Some people didn’t like my post about BULLY FEES

Bully Fees – The Bully’s family must pay cash to the target, the school and the board of education or go to jail.

Typical Scenario

Jonny and Susie have a favorite target that they like to bother all day. Mom and Dad X have had several complaints on Johnny and Susie and dismiss them with ease. They refuse to listen to or believe that Johnny and Susie are not made of solid/liquid gold. Result of doing nothing, Johnny and Susie stay at the school wasting learning time while the target (s) have to switch schools to get away from Johnny and Susie’s ill behavior.

Below are two plans I came up with which have some people miffed at me along with FAQ’s that have come up in regards to my plans.

It should be mandatory that all reports of any bullying be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. No exceptions! Schools should have to face a reprimand for not investigating all reports and allowing the bullying to continue acting up. These fees will be applied after the school and court is out of options for trying to stop the kid from bullying.

First line of attack against bullying.

The Three Strikes Rule

#1. First Strike – The first time the bully is reprimanded it should be mandatory that he/she should be suspended until the parents come in for a conference with the school board lawyer, the principal, school counselor, and the bully. It should be clearly stated what is acceptable and what is not. They all should have to sign a paper stating that they understand that this will not be tolerated at the school and what will happen if the inappropriate bullying behavior continues. It is then filed in the county courthouse as a warning.

#2. Second Strike- If the same bully is back again for a second offense then a second suspension should occur. During that suspension a case worker should be assigned to go to the bully’s home and see if there is a home situation fueling the bully’s behavior. The bully should also have to speak with a police officer to give him an insight as to what can happen if he doesn’t straighten it up. Mandatory 6 week behavior counseling should be assigned to the whole family, and they must go, or the bully cannot return to that school. This should be noted with the file already in the courthouse.

#3. Third Strike – He or she is out! The bully is expelled and cannot return to that school. The parents should be notified by the lawyer in writing and it will be filed at the county courthouse with all other documentation as to how they tried to resolve the problem and why it was not resolved. The parents must sign or face 1 day in jail. When released they still need to sign the paper. If they refuse to sign they face another day in jail. (the jail thing may be harsh but how else will you get the bully’s parents attention)
The school needs to take this seriously, otherwise, nothing will change. Parents of the bullied child need to use their rights as parents and file suit. The parents of the bully need to be accountable for the situation and resolving it or face consequences of having the bully removed from the home.

Alternative line of attack

If the Bully insist on disturbing class and not wanting to learn and has been put on notice and ends up on some sort of suspension then his/her parents must pay a fee each time the bully starts up. This will be court ordered and enforced.

$100 Family disturbance fee: The Bully’s parents will pay this to the target’s family for pain and suffering.

$200 School Fee: The Bully’s parents will divide equally between school board and the school for their child wasting the school and other children’s learning time.

$500 – $1000 Court Fee: The Bully’s parents pay this to the family to cover court fees from filing or hiring a lawyer against their kid.

$100 Fool Fee: Optional Fee. The Bully’s parents pay this for their child acting a straight up fool around the clock.
If the fees are not paid the child is not allowed back into regular school. Alternative School is where he/she will go so that normal kids can live in peace.

**New Fee**: Missed work day fee. If the target’s parents have to take off work and miss pay because of the bully. The Bully’s family should pay for missed wages.

The thought is if parents have to pay or continue to pay $1500-$3000 or more because they failed at raising their child maybe they’ll think about being a real parent for a change.

FAQ’s

Q. What if a kid is lying and not being bullied just so that they can get quick money?
A. That’s why it should be fully investigated. Facts do not hide.

Q. Is it fair for the parents to go to jail because of something their child did?
A. The parents would not face jail time if they teach their child to behave. If their child has a mental problem it should be noted at the beginning of the school year. Then things will be handled differently.

Q. What if the parents have 4 kids and only 1 has the problem? Is that the parents fault? Should they have to go to jail because of 1 kid who turned out bad?
A. Yes. If they have 4 kids and 1 is acting up and the others are not and they know this 1 kid has a problem and they have done nothing to improve the behavior then the 1 bad kid falls into the list of conditions.

Q. What if the parents have done everything they can? Grounded, spankings, threats, talking to them, pleading with them and the child continues to misbehave in spite of everything the parents have tried. Is it still fair to send the parents to jail?
A. Yes. Unless the parents have documentation that the child is currently in some sort of therapy or other help after all else has failed then the parents are still responsible for that child’s bad behavior.

Q. What if the bully’s parents don’t have the money to pay these bully fees?
A. They wouldn’t need the money if they stop the kid  at the first warning that there is a problem. If they allow it to continue then they stay the day in jail.

Q. If the parent goes to jail will this be recorded on his/her record?
A. Yes. It should be filed under neglect because the situation was neglected after 3 warnings and the parent failed to help the child.
